SafeCare-supported facilities honored at Nairobi Health Awards

Three SafeCare-supported health facilities were recognized at the Nairobi County 7th Annual Health Service Delivery Awards, under the theme “Building a Culture of Quality.”

Bro Andre Hospital Dandora, Equity Afya Kangemi, and Gertrude’s Children’s Hospital TRM Medical Centre received awards for excellence in service delivery. The recognition reflects progress across clinical governance, service standards, and patient outcomes, driven by SafeCare’s structured improvement approach.

A milestone moment for quality care in Kenya

The awards followed a landmark development in Kenya’s health system: the national rollout of the Kenya Quality Model for Health Plus (KQMH+), launched just one month prior. This program formally aligns the Kenya Quality Model for Health with SafeCare’s framework, embedding quality standards directly within Kenya’s Primary Health Care system and Primary Care Networks. Nairobi is among the eleven counties prioritized for the rollout.

The ceremony was presided over by Nairobi County Deputy Governor H.E. Njoroge Muchiri, alongside County Executive Committee Member for Health, Nutrition and Wellness Suzanne Silantoi, Chief Officer for Medical Services Irene Njeri Muchoki, and County Secretary Godfrey Akumali.
