Objectives
The foundation aims to: promote the quality, safety, and accessibility of healthcare, particularly in low- and middle-income countries, and furthermore, anything directly or indirectly related to this or that may be conducive thereto, all in the broadest sense of the word.

The SafeCare Foundation falls under the umbrella of the PharmAccess Foundation (www.pharmaccess.org), with the Board of Directors consisting of the same members. The annual accounts are available to the PharmAccess Foundation.

The foundation devotes its resources exclusively to the realization of its objective.

The resources are used for, among other things:

Governance
The Nicole Spieker is the managing director of Stichting SafeCare. The composition of the Board is as follows: N. Spieker (statutory board), A. Poels (interim statutory board), K.O. Rogo (supervisory board), E. Boerhof (supervisory board), E. Bronkhorst (supervisory board), and M. Schneider (supervisory board). The Supervisory Board of the PharmAccess Foundation is also the Supervisory Board of SafeCare.

The Board meets periodically and makes decisions in accordance with the Articles of Association and the Internal Regulations (if applicable).

Remuneration policy
Stichting SafeCare is an integral part of the PharmAccess Group. PharmAccess Group Foundation (PGF) bears the statutory responsibility for all group entities, including Stichting SafeCare. SafeCare has no governance bodies of its own; it falls entirely under the governance structure of the group.

All governance matters are organized at group level. The Supervisory Board of PGF oversees all entities, and its committees — including the Remuneration Committee (RemCo) — likewise operate at group level. Decision-making on remuneration policy and employment conditions therefore takes place within the group, not within individual entities.

In practice, this means Stichting SafeCare does not employ any staff itself; remuneration matters are governed by PGF’s policy. PGF adheres to the Wet Normering Topinkomens (WNT). Supervisory Board members are unpaid and receive no remuneration or expense allowance, though they may request compensation for costs incurred, such as travel or telephone expenses.
